5 of the best summer skincare tips to leave you looking flawless and glowing this summer!

Summer months and warmer temperature call for a change in your skincare routine! No matter where you are the sun in the summer can be quite harsh on your skin so it is important to know how to protect and let it breathe during the lighter, longer days. Below we have listed our top 5 summer skincare tips to help you glow through this season!

1. SPF

Never forget to wear sunscreen during the summer months! UV rays are particularly strong and more harmful during this time of the year so good protection is a must. We recommend a minimum of SPF 30 that has to be reapplied every 80 minutes (more often if you are going swimming). Diligent sunscreen use will minimise the appearance of sun related spots and keep your skin tone even and glowing.

2. Swap for a lighter moisturiser

As we make a seasonal wardrobe change towards more lighter and breathable fabrics, your skin should follow the same example. Thick creams have seen you through winter months, but they won’t do you any good during summer. It is a good idea to lighten up and let your skin breathe. Go for lighter lotions or gels, depending on your skin type.

3. Vitamin C boost

No sunscreen is foolproof, so if you looking for extra protection you should give yourself a Vitamin C boost! Vitamin C neutralises the free radicals that lead to premature skin aging and also aids in skin repair. We recommend using a Vitamin C serum that acts as a powerful antioxidant and keeps your skin glowing and healthy.

4. Cleanse your face

Heat and humidity during summer months cause your oil glands to produce more oil which can lead to blocked pores and breakouts. For that reason a good cleansing regime is vital as it will allow your skin to stay blemish-free and fresh. It is important to remove all of your makeup thoroughly before bed and exfoliate from time to time to remove the dead skin cells. We recommend using a gentle facial cleanser followed by an appropriate toner, depending on your skin type.

5. Add more healthy foods to your diet

Summer is a good opportunity to indulge in some of our favourite foods from ice creams to burgers and hotdogs but it is important to work healthy stuff into our diets too. Make the most of the seasonal produce such as cherries, tomatoes, corn and watermelons. Packed with vitamins and antioxidants they all have amazing skin benefits that will help you have a beautiful complexion all summer long!

Here they are, our top summer skincare tips! For many people summer time comes with a whole lot of skincare issues such as acne, rashes, uneven skin tone etc. However, with a few changes in your skin care regime your skin will stay glowing and fresh during the whole season.
